History of The Cellar

"since 1990" -- really? they had computers back then?

just curious what it was like back then. Has it really been a continuous chat or forum? It's one of the things that impressed me back when I came across it and was considering joining up.

Little did I know . . .

history

That page is linked from the FAQ, but many people won't ever find it, because it's at the bottom of the page.

It explains pre-1990 to about 2003.

very interesting. I was wondering about how this existed pre-internet.
It makes me remember the early days of the internet, the modem to modem connection went on your long distance phone bill. I remember how my brother and I were facinated with the fact that we could connect with people all over the world with this computer. With how slow the modem connections were back then, and the fact that it went on your phone bill, my dad was pretty pissed off when he had the first $400 phone bill because my brother and I were up late for hours, downloading landscape pictures from around the world and books and whatnot
