There are more good people than there are plonkers.
But plonkers are better organized.
I found that in a book I read recently. Would you agree? I surely do.

Thank you for expanding my slang vocabulary.
Plonkers are highly organized. The rest of us don't generally believe in stupid ideas enough to organize all our waking moments around them.

I had to do some research first as the original quote is in French. And most translation engines refered me to the word 'idiot'. Yet I was looking for something stronger.
Original quote: "Il y a plus de gens biens que de cons. Mais les cons sont mieux organisés." in "Les cathédrales du vide" by Henri Loevenbruck (no English edition as far as I know).

I don't think the world is divided between plonkers and good people. I think people are plonkers or good at different times.
I think the British must use the word 'plonker' differently. There's nothing organised about a plonker over here.

Plonkers are plonkers, so why should it be that you and I should get along so awfully?

I don't think the plonkers are more organized. I think they're just louder.

yeah, at the co-op we call them the vocal minority. 3 people out of 200 piss and moan whenever a change is to be made, and you'd think the vote would be about 50/50. It ended up being unanimous in favor with one dissenting vote.
The funniest part was that one of the 3 piss and moaners demanded a secret ballot rather than a show of hands so no one would know who voted for or against. It was obvious to the lone dissenter that her comrades had voted against her. But they weren't especially organized in this case, just loud.

I think there are way more plonkers than good people. But I am a pessimist. I think all people are inherently evil and have to strive everyday to try to be good in life. The rest just give in....

Yes. Plonkers are not bastards. They're not 'the dark side'. It's more like calling someone a tool.

I think the equivalent American term should be "jackasses."
