Apparently my friends assume I have naturally beautifully shaped eyebrows because I don't wear make-up very often so it doesn't occur to them I'm vain enough to pluck my eyebrows!

I usually wax once a month and pluck the strays out in between.

but what is there to wax if you pluck in between? or do you mean you pluck in the non-wax area?

The hairs grow at different times, so even when you wax, there's more hairs about to hit the surface and start poking their ugly little heads through. Those are the ones I pluck, but within a couple of weeks, they're coming through faster than I can be bothered plucking them (plus it's really hard to pluck effectively when you can't see them properly, and plucking with glasses on is a bit of a trick which I can't be bothered learning), so usually at around the month mark I give up and get them waxed again.

I start with a real wax, and pluck until I fall behind enough that I've lost the shape and have to go get waxed again, probably every 2-3 months. BUT, in their natural state my eyebrow hairs are shockingly long. Not thick or bushy, just long. So more often than I pluck, I have to trim, either with tiny scissors or with one of those skinny hand-held shavers designed for men's nosehairs.

No-one gets their eyebrows threaded? I thought that was all the rage?

The place I go to offers it. But it seems like ripping off the bandaid slowly, to me.
The ladies at my place all think I'm weird because I don't cry or scream or anything. |

I pull them out if I can see them without a mirror.
I almost have enough to make a broom.

I use my epilady, I have a small one for that kinda stuff. I love my epilady!!
I also pluck, Im a compulsive plucker, so I have to tell myself to stop in regards to my eyebrows. I will sit and relax and pluck. I epilady everywhere now, and strangely I love the pain. |
