I must say that I sincerely admire what the Chinese as well as Japanese have done with food. It really honors the notion of mealtime and eating. I like it.
What is with all the love for Hello, Kitty?

I don't understand it in anyone over the age of 12. Especially if the individual is not female.
At one point I had a Hello Kitty picture I did like. I think MaggieL posted it here, but I can't find it. ![]()

You're never too old to play with your food!
All that stuff up there reminds me of what some bakeries will do with speciality cakes...they'll bake it in a shape, then use the icing to fill in the missing parts so you get cakes that look like teddybears and stuff. Some of the artwork I've seen done with cake icing has been incredible... I wonder if the googly-eyes are also edible...

The Japanese believe that food should be visually appealing, as well as tasty and healthy.
Hello Kitty has just had it's 30th (I think) birthday. Thus the adoration in sushi. |
