My cell works great. The less "things" I have to carry around/keep up with, the better I like it. And I have to have the phone, so..... there goes the watch.

I wear a watch to work, no clocks, have to get the time from a computer.
Mom ~ I'm getting you a watch for Christmas, what do you want? Me ~ Anything that I can tell the time at night, from passing under a streetlight, at 70mph, without my glasses. I forgot to tell her silver to match my Speidel Twist-O-Flex band that's moved from watch to watch for twenty odd years, because it doesn't pull hair. She got me a gold one like LJ's. @ Sundae. 70 pounds, close to $140US, for a battery?

I always wear a watch. Because I need to wear a watch at work for vitals, it's analog with a sweep second hand. The current watch is an old (early 90s, I'd guess) Wile E. Coyote watch from the Warner Brother's Store. When you push the button for the backlight, he gets electrocuted. Of course, I also have a Hello Kitty Watch Wardrobe (if you can call two a wardrobe) ... but because they are 'girl' watches the faces are pretty small and, uh, I'm overdue on my eye doctor appt and can't reliable read the dial without a lot of squinting and arm and head movement.
I really prefer pocket watches and have three or four, but in referring back to the doing vitals thing ... I don't have enough hands to manage the stethascope, BP cuff and the watch all at once.

I'm a budding watch freak! - OK so I started late - current everyday watch is a Dunhill bi-metal, but my Sundays and special days wach is a Rotary 9ct gold one that was a 21st birthday present (so that makes it 39 years old this year).
I have a small collection of 1940's watches - a Hamilton, a Bulova and an Elgin Driver's watch (the one with hinged lugs - you can wear it on the edge of your wrist so you don't have to turn your arm from the wheel to read the time). On the novelty side I have a Mickey Mouse 50th Aniversary watch, a Minnie Mouse bubble watch and a Goofiie watch (it goes backwards with the numbers set in reverse sequence on the dial). Anyone want pictures?

I go through phases with watch wearing. Right now I don't wear one. I feel like I should though...seems like something a 'together' person would do. Meh.
